Minutes of meeting Thursday 13th April agreed and signed by Chairman
Actions:
- New kitchen. Ongoing Action we need to get an updated quote from Homebase + one other at least.
- Cromer Electrical visit. Items have been completed that were needed, Action Mike requested a double socket to be fitted in the renovated side/ changing room If and when an electrician is on site
- Side/Changing room decoration Update by Mike: Carpet has been laid since last meeting and a worktop fitted, Action another worktop needed to finish. Roy and committee thanked Mike for his good work on the project
- Gent’s toilet Roy advised the committee bowl has a hairline crack, Action possible replacement was discussed
- Radiator thermostat replacement Action Roy to retry to contact plumber
- Insurance Trustees Liability: Roy confirmed committee members and trustees are covered on insurance policy which was circulated to those present
- Wi-fi signage Ongoing, Action need to set up guest password
- Bank holiday coronation event review: 42 attendees not including the committee, the turnout possibly a little disappointing, however the day went generally well, and villagers who came enjoyed the event. Members were thanked for their work on the day and in advance of the event.
- Goalpost repair Action Roy reported that he is in the process of making up a new support to replace the broken part from a pipe which he is attempting to shape to fit.
Correspondence
Norfolk and Waveney Mind have been in contact with regard to hiring a room (possibly the side room) for regular one to one sessions on a Tuesday from 9-5. Action Des has emailed with possible options and offered a visit to consider potential hire.

Syd was pleased to report that the village hall now has a positive balance for the year following a successful month.
Has received from Community Action Norfolk via ACRE policy wordings for Equal opportunities and Safeguarding. Also literature for Easy Fundraising scheme.
Bowls Club: Possible re-introduction of charges to Felmingham Bowls Club was discussed, the previous yearly charge was not agreed on, but instead to just charge for water usage, which would be monitored for the rest of the year. To provide a charging amount for next year 2024.
Card reader for debit/credit card payments mainly for bar use, Options were discussed on possible introduction and costs, Action Syd to make further enquiries and relay to members. A vote was taken, positive to the introduction of a card reader in near future.

- Cars in the car park. One of the 2 cars has been moved on Action Mike offered to contact the thought of owner to discuss the situation
- New WhatsApp group set up by Mike : helpful in contacting members and discussing ideas
- Outside Garden borders clean up Action working party organised for evening of 31st May
- Coffee morning. This was raised again and discussed Action a different proposal of a barbecue day, was proposed by Roy, with a “book a burger” event with bar open and a raffle. A date was set for Saturday 19th August 12-3 pm.
- Mike has been informed by the church that they will be installing new play equipment in The Bartrum Trust area of the playing field sometime in the near future.
- Des asked for the village hall to have a “What 3 words” address for the village hall entrance, as this is the accepted way to find properties or individuals by the emergency services and would be useful to be displayed on defibrillator outside the hall also. Action Mike to ask Heather for permission to display, also find out the “What 3 words”
- Casino night idea was discussed and what equipment we would need, and the basic principle of how it would work, also dates were discussed.Potentially the Saturday before New Year, as we cannot open New Year’s Eve as it falls on a Sunday.
- Movie Night: Discussion on potential idea of purchasing a projector and screen
Action Look into potential costs and licenses and training costs
- John Newstead informed us that the Parish Council at their last meeting were looking into a way of marking the passing of Village Committee stalwart John Gouldsmith, the village hall committee agreed to offer to help the Parish Council financially to cover the cost of an item of remembrance possibly a bench Action John to contact Parish Council
